  • What kind of jobs do you have available?  Are you a temp agency or job bank?

    OOD is not a temp agency or job bank but the state agency responsible for vocational rehabilitation in Ohio.  OOD does work with employers and partners across the state in order to effectively assist eligible individuals in finding and keeping competitive community employment.

  • Does the program pay for school (i.e. college, vocational training, etc.)?

    This is determined as part of the vocational rehabilitation (VR) process.  Eligible individuals work in conjunction with a counselor to identify an appropriate vocational goal.  If vocational or post-secondary training is needed to reach the agreed upon goal, the counselor will request information and determine if there is a financial need and if agency support is appropriate.

  • Does OOD work with any type of disability?

    Yes.  OOD works with any individual whose disability – physical, mental, or emotional –limits their ability to get or keep a job.

  • I have received VR services in the past, do I need to go through all of this again or can I just start services?

    Depending on the time elapsed, prior information may still be utilized.  If a case is reopened, however, a re-evaluation of eligibility and order of selection for services must be completed.  This involves an eligibility and order of selection review and may involve a request for updated information.

  • Can you provide transportation?

    Transportation may be considered as a service based upon the needs of the individual.  In order for the OOD counselor to consider transportation it must be necessary to enable you to fully participate in eligibility assessments; VR services listed on the Individualized Plan for Employment; or to remove a barrier to employment.

  • Can you still help me if I have a job?

    Anyone can apply for services at OOD.  However, they must meet certain eligibility requirements in order to be provided services.  A counselor will meet with you to determine if you have a verifiable disability that creates a barrier to you getting a job, or keeping a job.  If you are in jeopardy of losing your job due to an issue with your disability, you may be eligible to receive services from OOD.

  • Is the information I provide to OOD private and secure?

    Yes! Any portions of this website that process personal information do so using secure, encrypted data transfers. You can tell when your session is secure, as most Internet browsers display a locked padlock symbol in or near the address bar when encryption is in effect. OOD requires all of its employees and contractors to respect privacy and protect personally identifiable information regardless of the form and system in which it's kept.

  • I have forgotten my password. How do I reset it?

    To reset your password, click on “Forgot Your Password” on the login page. You will be prompted to enter your User Name. After entering your User Name and clicking “Email Link,” we will send an email message with a reset link to the email address you provided when you created your account. Click the link in the email. That will bring you to the Reset Password page. Enter and confirm your new password and you’ll immediately be able to log in.

  • I have no email account. Where do I get one and how much will it cost?

    OOD Works uses email initially to confirm your profile set-up and then to notify you of important information as we work together. There are numerous free email service providers through which you can create an email account. The easiest way to choose is to do an Internet search for “best free email provider”, look at the services included and the reviews, and create your email account with the provider who offers the best match for you.
